21 marches for the 21st century
Erkki-Sven Tüür
(1959):
"Happy Hour For UBC" 03:27
I remember marching music from the opening
ceremonies of our local song festival, my only personal and
emotional link to the genre. I was 7 years old. I marched and
I liked it very much! While writing this march I was not thinking
in terms of "how to be seriously and fundametally innovative
in the marching music scene". It was simply great fun to do.
The march is dedicated to UBC (Uisge Beatha Club), an Estonian
whisky club which is actually a group of friends (architects,
musicians, artists, scientists etc.) who all have something
in common - such as their creative attitude and a very specific
sense of humor.
